Dear Village Residents/Homeowner
Associations,
The Long Grove Park District has been managing Teasel on their
properties for years and the Village
of Long Grove initiated a
Teasel (pictured above) Management Program along Village/State Roads two years
ago. The Village has been very pleased with the success of this program
in eliminating/controlling this highly invasive species within the
right-of-ways but has identified numerous private property areas beyond the
right-of-way where the Teasel continues to thrive and spread. In order to
most effectively manage the Teasel population it is essential that the private
property owners develop their own Teasel Management Program in coordination
with the Village’s efforts.
Accordingly, the Village of Long Grove and the Long Grove Park
District invite all residents to attend the free Invasive Plan Management
Seminar at the Reed-Turner Woodland Nature Center (3851 Old McHenry Road –
highlighted property on the map below) on Wednesday, April 30th at
7:00 p.m.
Please RSVP with Village Administrative Assistant Sherry Shlagman
at 847-634-9440 or SShlagman@longgrove.net.
Sincerely, The Village of Long Grove
